Are you Considering Breast Revision?

Many patients who wind up considering breast revision in Maryland have found themselves to be unhappy with the outcome of a breast augmentation they had performed at some point in the past. Often, this presents issues that are little more than cosmetic in nature. In some cases, however, patients can seek out a breast revision procedure due to a medical issue that requires quick attention.

Dr. Cappuccino has a high level of experience with these procedures and will be able to quickly and effectively develop a treatment plan that revises your breast augmentation and restores your ideal look. You’re likely a great candidate for a breast revision in Maryland if you’re not happy with the results of a prior breast augmentation procedure. This can present itself in a number of ways, both cosmetic and medical. Some of the issues that might cause you to consider breast revision include:

  • Capsular contracture
  • Shits in position
  • Dissatisfaction with size
  • Unhappiness with shape
  • Leakage
  • Visible wrinkling
  • Displacement

Resolving Capsular Contracture and Other Issues

When a breast implant is placed, the body naturally forms a tissue capsule around the object. This is a normal part of the body’s healing process, but it can sometimes lead to a complication known as capsular contracture.

Sometimes, this tissue capsule can tighten and harden around the implant. This distorts the appearance of the breast and can also become quite uncomfortable for the patient if not addressed quickly enough.

Other issues—such as rippling, breakage, leakage, and so forth—can also be effectively addressed by a breast revision. Unlike an implant removal procedure, your implants will be replaced and your results preserved.
